Weekend Wishes

Sorry for the "minimalist" quality of my recent posts!  Such a couple of weeks it has been for us!

Hope you all are in good shape and that some are seeing little hints of spring.

Have a great weekend and I'll be a little more forthcoming next week!

xoxo

Corner View - Something Old Something New....Redux

Pasadena Flea Market

This works for this week's theme, doesn't it?  Meanwhile I did post a "Something Old" Corner View last week.  If you didn't catch it, find it here.

It was a very busy week last week.  This week will be too.  I'll catch you up soon!

Things seem to be looking up over at Francesca's "Fuori Borgo".  You can find out more, and find more Corner Views where she's blogging: here

P.S.  I'll just add that I've tried to leave comments around today and this new Google "anti-robot" system is just impossible!  Is it just me?  Sorry but I don't have the time to try 3-4 times to crack "the code"!!!!  Apologies if you're having the same problems leaving comments here.

Happy Valentine's Day!

Are you doing something romantic with your honey?  Hope so!

Corner View - Something Old, Something New........

something borrowed, something blue.......

i didn't incorporate any of these elements into my fairly non-traditional wedding.  ours only cost $300.  and we made our own wedding cake.  it was good: austrian hazelnut torte!

secret:  i got married so that my husband could get his green card.  guess what, we've been married longer than Kim Kardashian has managed.  very much longer in fact.....it's a good thing.

and we just celebrated our wedding anniversary.  but a whole life together inevitably becomes all of that.......something old, something new....doesn't it?

For more Corner Views, check out Francesca at Fuori Borgo here.

Occupying Wall Street - The L.A. Flower Mart

This is the other Wall St., the one in Downtown L.A.

The Los Angeles Flower Mart and the Southern California Flower Market

straddle Wall St. between 7th and 8th St.

It is steps from L.A.'s skidrow, which makes for a stark contrast.

So much beauty and simplicity alongside so much sadness.

A friend had been telling me I needed to come here, from the moment I moved to L.A.

but she also told me I needed to get there by 8 a.m. LATEST!  (For the bargains, presumably.)

Well, I am not such a morning person.  Sooooooooooo

It took me awhile to get here.

WORTH THE TRIP THO'!

I'll let you in on a little secret - the more interesting flowers are at the Southern California Flower Mart.

The "local" growers will take more risks with interesting flowers than will the industrial growers from Ecuador and Mexico.

Here's what I brought back from the Southern California side.  I think I did well.  What do you think?  I'll show you the arrangement I made soon!
