Bottega Louie - Brunch

So on to cheerier posting!  Because life IS very much about the bad AND the GOOD.  And to accentuate the positive, I wanted to revisit a few very nice bits and pieces left of my 2010 adventures which I had not managed to post before.  That's what this week will be about. 

To start, I am not embarrassed to say, YES.  I AM posting AGAIN about Bottega Louie (link at bottom), which I have ALREADY posted about TWICE, here and here!

Because the light is so beautiful there, you can't help but make nice looking pictures.

Cause the atmosphere there is so happy and relaxed.  Because the crowd is stylish, hip and multi-ethnic!  

Because they have strong handsome waiters. 

Because they put pink salt on the table and you know I love my pink food!

Because they serve something called "French 75" made of gin, fresh squeezed lemon juice, simple syrup and prosecco.  Something so delicious, I'd be happy to drink it everyday.

And because of their burrata-rapini-prosciutto and parmigiano reggiano pizza!

Shall I say a Bottega Louie brunch is a sure recipe for satisfied customers!?  OK, yes.  I SHALL!  And a great reason to come to Downtown L.A. !!!!!!

O.K., gots to run!  Cause I'm so hungry now!

Lousy Way to Start a New Year

We had a very tragic weekend here in the states.  I cannot say enough about how discouraged I have become with a media and political atmosphere in the U.S. which, for almost two decades, has tolerated and promoted language and behavior by U.S. citizens against U.S. citizens of the most unfair and hysterical kind.  I don't think many people were actually surprised that the events of this weekend have come to pass.  I hope it serves as a reality check for all of us.  But I have to say that I am not too optimistic.  I feel that I can't post today without acknowledging the events in Arizona and honoring the good people who lost lives, and the grief of those who lost loved ones, in this awful (self-described) homegrown terrorist  attack.  I hope with all my heart for an excellent recovery for Congresswoman Gifford, and others injured Saturday in the Arizona shootings.  I hope with all my heart that such an event will never ever take place again, in my home country or yours.  But once again, I am not very optimistic.


The English have a very good word for the vicious cycle of wrong-headed thinking we in the U.S. seem to have become entrapped in:  "BLOODY-MINDEDNESS".


Whatever happened to civility, common sense and compassion?

A Fresh Start

The magnolia's are already blooming where I am.  But I'm guessing that where you are it is still mostly white.

Soon there will be green shoots.
