This is not the most exciting part of my house. Or, shall we say, it's more about what takes flight here than actually sticks around. But for the sake of a generally harmonious and homogeneous Corner View, I give you:
The fun end - Indian melamine tiffin containing a wide selection of teas never (to be) drunk, a transferware sugar bowl containing sugar never used, a decorative tin containing Chinese-English crackers that will never be eaten, we just like it for the visuals, a wire basket for collecting corks for a Marie Claire Maison pin board that will never be completed........
and the business end, because what dish does not benefit from a little extra pinch of red pepper flakes or garlic, a shot of sherry or dry vermouth, an exuberant shaking of cinnamon - so handy for stabilizing your blood sugar at any hour of the day or night and indispensable for making Moroccan food, Clancy's Fancy Hot Sauce (if you are from Michigan, you know of what I speak!) and a healthy shaking of oregano to make your pizza taste just that little bit MORE. And did I mention tabasco for your burritos and scrambled eggs? And a TOOL for EVERY JOB!
I look forward to seeing what your kitchen counter looks like. I make no apologies for my own!

ReplyDeleteOh I love it! The colors! The words... coming here is always such a pleasure, I feel I am leaving Tashkent and traveling far far away... Thank you!
ReplyDeleteI love Tiffins. I use mine to store old jewelry from the 80's. My kitchen is the hubby's realm. I dare not move a thing! And that is fine with me.
ReplyDeletePackaging - I am a sucker for beautiful tea tins, so I know, I'm with ya girl!
ReplyDeleteI like your kitchen counter!! The colors are so cheery and everything has a lovely welcoming, lived in feel. Nothing sterile or austere about it. :-)
