Two Travelling Birds - I Want to Be Them When I Grow Up

How do you make romance last a little bit longer

and love a lot larger?

Find something that you and your special one can both be passionate about

Like these two do.

Discovering TOGETHER.

Indulging in some kind of play -

like this large-scale kind that is called travel.....

Is, according to science, a wonderful way

to prolong your own life and that of your loved ones.

Engaging in new explorations - (and what's old, as if it's the first time you've ever seen it)

is a healthy, happy way to be in the world.  If only we ALL could ALWAYS be

minus the carbon footprint, of course!

How was your Thanksgiving?

For the Moment, We Still Have the Beach - And It's Still Called Paradise Cove, Malibu

Despite the giant orange cloud looming over our Thanksgiving to come.....

And 2017.  We in California for now, at least, still have the beach.

The gulls and the pelicans, the long vistas....

the sun and mist and the hard bodies are all still here.

Foreign residents of Los Angeles, past and present, can still reunite with their families.

And even in autumnal light

carefree relaxation may be indulged in by the masses.

(At least those masses who have cars, because Paradise Cove is a bit out of the way, shall we say, on Pacific Highway CA1)

The restaurant is a cacophony of sounds, vintage photos, and piles of fishy American comfort food.

All the necessaries are provided for.

(Parking is free only if you spend about $25 at the restaurant, which will be very easy to do.  You can also park on the highway, above, and walk down.)

As you can imagine, in Mid-Summer, Paradise Cove is chock-a-block.

If you are a fan of 1970's TV shows, Paradise Cove will fulfill your celebrity trivia requirements.

It's riding a wave of feel-good California vibrations.

(That didn't take long did it?  We just about managed to forget about Mr. Trump!  I guess we needed that!  I mean, I DID!)

How was your weekend?

 What are you cooking for

Turning Back the Clock - Because YOU KNOW WHY

I think I found these pictures on the Guardian

at about this time last year.

When it was Diwali........

That lovely festival just past.

Of hope and illumination.

Last year we had the Bataclan attacks to challenge our innocent, childlike

views of life.

And now this year, a deluge.  That could knock us off our feet.

Remember the happier, carefree days before that?

What.  What!  What?????  Watch this space.  If I can possibly find the courage.
(Thanks Suzanne for the nice note. )

The Jazz Age at the Fashion and Textile Museum, London

Located on one of the oldest streets in London.....(Bermondsey St.)

where you'll find lots of little shops and restaurants of every kind.

Just steps out of London Bridge Station and about a half mile

from Borough Market and Shakespeare's Globe.

The Fashion and Textile Museum is not the biggest, or best known museum in London.

But it is almost required revisiting for fashionistas, nostalgic types, textile junkies, you know who you are.

Last time for me, it was the Missoni Exhibit.  And now, my favorite fashion era...the Jazz Age.

Comfortable, feminine clothes.  That bespeak simplicity, elegance and panache

all at once.  Floaty too.  Who doesn't love floaty?

And next up - for the New Year which is coming faster than we'd like.......

Josef Frank!  What you can't see on that poster are the words spelling:
