Landscape Love - Leicestershire

Here's my last English post for the week I think.

A little landscape that warms the cockles of my heart.

It's an ancient landscape.

A rugged place.

Textured.

Moody.

Inviting, nevertheless.

A place to blow out the cobwebs.  Whatever the weather.

London Blues Buster - Borough Market

See?  Another post in solidarity with all those of you still shivering in the cold.  

Actually, I realized that these pics have been buried a bit in my I-files.  So I'm making it an English week.  Since I have no idea what the Corner View theme is this week.

Anybody up for a visit South of the River, to Borough Market, in London?

This is an especially festive place for a pre-Christmas visit.

It is a guaranteed blues busting outing.  As long as you are warm and dry, a little hungry, and feeling fresh.

Cause it's a shlep to south of the river!

But now that you've made it, how do you feel?

Having a Tiny Tim moment?  ("God Bless Us Everyone!")

Here in this land of plenty?

How often do you get to see brussels sprouts looking like this?

You will have plenty of options for stuffing your gob.  Most will be satisfying and warming.

And once out on the streets again.

It will be hard to ever see London

in the same way.......... again.

But Then Again........The V&A

If you must have lousy weather.

The least you could do is be like England

and have somewhere to go in the rain

to meet

fascinating

characters.  Original personalities.........

(he's made out of coat hangers!)

Oh yeah, and somewhere really cool for lunch!   Someplace like the V&A.  The "World's Greatest Museum of Art and Design".

Gloomy days get me down.  Which is why I moved to the sun.

I know some of you are still having them.  I'm sorry.

I can imagine what it must really be like.  But this is how I like to imagine you.

Patterns Are Funny

Are you inclined to find patterns in things?  It happens to me.

I even find patterns in patterns.  Have you noticed on some peoples' Tumblrs that there are patterns of certain types of images that arrive clumped up together?  Do you think that they emerge sort of organically?

Or do you think that whoever is posting them has saved them up in order to show them together, in order to curate them for you?

Most of these images came from Sophie Munns' SeedCapsules site.

Strictly speaking they were not clumped together.  But as I chose them, and they showed up in my "storage area", I realized that I had also selected them according to a pattern.  That was still slightly different from Sophie's.  Entirely unconsciously.

Life is funny, isn't it?  I recently heard an interview with a man who had identified a flow theory of physics.  What do you know about physics?  Do you think that he's right?  That everything in our universe evolves and emerges as part of a flow?

I think it's lovely that the word "flow" is also a part of "flower".

Hmmmmmmmmm.  I'm having a bit of a ruminate.  Can you hang in there with me?

Nadine, aka, "Little Wolf" (here), is a someone who is a lively ruminator.  (And stunningly, inspiringly so.  Don't be fooled that she calls herself a "librarian" during most of her daytime hours.)  She is also the painter of butterfly wings.

And we all know that a butterfly is never far from a flower.

Well yes, it has come to pass.  The auspicious new beginning.

A door has closed on our life in Paradise.  Happily it closed with alot of aloha.

These are bits of it, left a little around the house.  Perfuming our new life, with maile and tuberrose.

I'll let you decide.

We are definitely not talking pink velour track suits here.

And you can't really call this version of black

"basic".

But if this is matchy-matchy in the "East Side" style......I'll take it.
