Gung Hee Fat Choy!

I'm a little late in wishing you a HAPPY LUNAR NEW YEAR!

In the language of my Mother, a nice Cantonese lady.

This post celebrates Miao Chinese tribal textiles as captured by

Gina Corrigan.

I don't think I have ever posted these but I have been meaning to do so for like ever!  Have a good Year of the Horse please and eat something lucky and auspicious this week!

  4. And to you, Mlle P! I'm sure you will know the correct auspicious foods for the week. Silly, other than the idea of black-eyed peas and cabbage (or lentils in these parts) at New Year's, I'm afraid I don't know what is lucky and what is not. These wonderful pieces caught my eye. (Hope to be back to blogging at least in March.)

  5. we were in brussels for the day, as the chinese new year was being celebrated on the street 'round the corner from where we ate. it was fun seeing, feeling and hearing the traditionals, although i didn't get the symbolics. n♥
